Architectural Significance

This house is a relatively recent example of Pleasant St. housing stock. Possessing an irregular, cross shaped plan, it is clad with clapboards and enclosed by a gable roof with return eaves. Windows are fully enframed and cornice headed with a pointed arch window at attic level. Particularly noteworthy is the well-crafted porch with slat work elements. This house blends elements of the Queen Anne and Italinate styles.

Historical Significance

This house was built c. 1900 by George W. Barker, carpenter. He purchased this lot from Henry A. Barker in 1898.
